Here you will find answers to some common questions.
Do you allow dogs?
Sorry, Craigmore Cottage is a dog free cottage.
Do you allow smokers?
No smoking is allowed within the cottage.
Do I need to bring bedding or towels?
No, these will be provided.
Is the water safe to drink ?
The water, although dark in colour, is safe to drink if boiled – in fact, it makes a lovely cup of tea! However, if you drink a lot of cold water, you may prefer bottled water which is available at the local Spar.
Is there a telephone?
There is no telephone at the cottage. Mobile phone coverage varies throughout the island, depending on provider – Vodafone reception is reasonable at the cottage. BT telephone boxes are located in Salen and in Gruline.
How good is the TV and radio reception?
There are two radios in the cottage but unfortunately, due to poor reception, the only radio station you can get with any clarity is Radio 4 on long wave. TV reception is via a satellite decoder and there is a huge variety of channels available.
