Craigmore Cottage was built in 2007 to a very high standard, with good quality finishes and neutral decoration. It has wide doorways and level access throughout.
A paved path and access ramp leads to the front porch – a useful space for leaving those dirty walking boots. From here you enter a spacious kitchen/lounge area which has windows on each aspect giving views of the surrounding countryside.
The kitchen has ample storage space and is well-equipped, including an electric cooker, refrigerator, microwave and toaster. Tea towels and other extras are included.
The lounge/dining area is furnished with two 2-seater sofas, with dining table and chairs, and log-effect electric fire. There is television, DVD player and CD player, and maps, books and DVD’s are provided for guests’ use.
The bedroom has a double bed (which will be made up for guests’ arrival), dressing table, bedside cabinets and built-in wardrobe. A hair dryer is also provided.
The bathroom features a modern bathroom suite and over-bath shower, and there is a shaver socket. Bath and hand towels are included.
The property is heated by electric wall and free-standing heaters. The first £10 of electricity is included in the rental – anything used over this is charged on an “honesty” basis, calculated by guests’ own meter readings. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are also included in the rental, along with many “little extras” which we hope our guests will appreciate.
Water is taken from a private supply off the mountain. It can appear dark in colour at times and we do advise that it is boiled before use. In times of exceptional drought, water supply cannot be guaranteed, but in such circumstances we will do all we can to alleviate any problems.
Outside there is a spacious drive with ample turning and parking area. The garden is quiet and peaceful, and fenced on all sides. Folding garden chairs and table are provided for guests’ use.
